Fes One Day Tour
At the time you choose we will meet in front of the Moulay Idriss College. From there we will begin a guided tour of Fez that will take us to discover the monuments that are hidden among the alleys of the Medina. Welcome to the cultural capital of Morocco!
We will start the tour talking about what is known as the Blue Gate, the main entrance to the Medina of Fez. We will walk to the Al-Attarine Madrasa, one of the main Koranic schools where students could reside. Very close we will find the Bou Inania Madrasa and we will visit its interior, covered with stucco walls, wood and tiles with geometric motifs. A true architectural jewel!
Then we will continue the walking tour in Talaa Kebira and Talaa Seguira. These two important streets, in addition to commercial arteries, contain a series of historical monuments that we will discover. We will thus arrive at the Mausoleum of Mulay Idrís. Did you know that it is one of the holiest places in the entire Medina? We’ll see why!
The next stop will take place outside the Al Karaouine Mosque. At its door we will talk about one of the largest architectural complexes in Fez, known for housing the oldest university in the world. We will continue strolling through the Medina in search of souks and old squares where time seems to have stopped. We will even find an Andalusian neighborhood!
We will not end the visit without going to the oldest tannery in the city: Sidi Moussa. Then we will arrive at Seffarine Square, where one of the oldest trades in Fez is preserved, that of the tinkerers.
After three hours, we will end the guided tour of Fez at R’cif Square.
