Merzouga Desert Trip
Day 1 – Agadir – Marrakech
We will pick you up from your hotel/riad and we will go to Marrakech, where we will have a guided tour of ½ day. Marrakech, a former imperial city in western Morocco, is a major economic center and home to mosques, palaces, and gardens. After a long day we relax in a comfortable riad/hotel with a tasty dinner.
Day 2 – Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Desdes Valley
Today drive through the Tizi-N-Tichka mountain pass at 2260 m, in the High Atlas Mountains. We enjoy the scenery and beautiful scenery, berber villages on the way in the mountains. We enjoy free time in the ancient Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Many well-known movies were shot. We continue to Ouarzazate to visit “Taourirt Kasbah”. We continue our tour of Morocco passing through the “Valley of the Roses” to reach the Dades Gorges. After a long day we relax in a comfortable riad/hotel with a tasty dinner.
Day 3 – Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Desert
After your breakfast we explore Dades Gorges, then Todra Gorges, a famous rocky canyon. We then pass through some Berber villages to reach Erfoud, famous for its fossil products. Passing the Tafilalet oasis, we continue towards Rissani and then towards the Merzouga desert. In the Merzouga Sahara desert we ride the camels in the sand dunes. We will enjoy the beautiful desert sand. We spend this night in a desert nomad camp with Berber dinner. Local guides will play drum music for us in the middle of the Sahara desert. We enjoy an amazing desert sunset and then spend the night in nomad tents.
Day 4 – Merzouga – Rissani – Daraa Valley – Marrakech
We get up early for a camel ride to see the sunrise in the desert. After breakfast at the hotel we head towards Rissani, Agdez. We pass the Draa Valley and arrive at the city of Ouarzazate. After lunch we will cross the High Atlas Mountains to reach Marrakech in the evening.
Day 5 – Marrakech – Agadir
You will have a free program in Marrakech and then we will drive from Marrakech to Agadir, and finish our tour.
