6 Days – Desert Trip from Fez

Day 1 – Fez – Ifrane – Michlifen – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga

Our private tour begins with a drive towards the Atlas Mountains stopping to visit the village of Ifrane, where we will have the opportunity to explore the famous cedar forest, home of the Berber apes. Then we will continue through the Tiz Ntalghamt mountain pass and the Ziz gorge (here we can stop for pictures and have some local mint tea) to Midelt. We then continue to Merzouga where we will end the day with dinner and overnight in a local Riad.

Day 2 – Merzouga Desert – Gnawa Khamlia – Nomad Family – Merzouga

Today we will explore the desert region around the Erg Chebbi desert dunes. You will have the opportunity to see the way of life of the nomads and the wonderful contrast of the desert. We will visit the black town of Khamlia; where we will be delighted with the music of the Gnawans. For lunch we will enjoy a traditional Berber pizza in the ancient capital of Rissani. In the afternoon we will ride a camel to watch the sunset over the dunes and spend the night in the desert camp. We will have a traditional Tagine dinner, drink delicious local mint tea and listen to traditional Berber music around a campfire while watching the stars and the crescent moon in the amazing Sahara desert.

Day 3 – Merzouga Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

We will wake up and head to a local hotel where you will have a chance to freshen up and enjoy a complimentary breakfast before heading to Ouarzazate. On the way, we will visit the Berber villages where the Todra and Dades gorges meet. In Dades Gorge, we will stop at a local hotel where we will spend the night and enjoy a complimentary dinner.

Day 4 – Dades Valley – Valley of the Roses – Skoura – Amridil Kasbah – Ouarzazate

After breakfast, we will continue our journey to Ouarzazate through the road of a thousand Kasbahs (fortress) stopping at Kalaat Mgouna, the center of the Valley of Roses, famous for its annual Festival of Roses. We will spend the night in a local hotel.

Day 5 – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

Departure to Marrakech via Ait ben Haddou Kasbah through the beautiful landscape of the Middle Atlas. En route, lunch, visit the sources and return to your accommodation in Marrakech.

Day 6 – Guided tour of the city of Marrakech

This day will be spent in Marrakech. You will explore the main attractions of the city, including the famous Jamaa el Fna square, the Kotubia Mosque, the souk, the Royal Palace and some museums. We will also explore a new part of the city called Gueliz, including the Menara and Marjolle Gardens before ending our tour at your riad/airport.
